Job summary
About the posistionThe Field Data Management Officer is responsible for field asset/condition data collection and update for assets that the City Assets branch is responsible for as an asset owner/custodian. This role is also responsible for field asset/condition data collection and update and work with the Senior Asset Systems Officer to develop to the development of the Field Data Capture Program and associated processes.Capturing field asset data in the form of new asset creation, asset data updates, asset condition assessment, and asset defect collection.Completing field data capture projects in accordance with the City's asset field data capture policy and procedures.Spatial Analysis and Asset Information ValidationContributing to field asset data applications development.Contributing to continuous improvement for asset systems and data/information management services.Complying with the corporate asset data standard, the spatial data standard and asset data management processes and controls.Assisting in the identification of asset data integrity issues and undertaking asset data improvements.Providing support and guidance for project managers delivering new infrastructure and data/information.Investigating, recording and providing timely responses to concerns regarding asset systems and data/information management services as directed. Including letters, Councillor requests, customer requests and phone calls.Contributing to an atmosphere of responsible safety, quality, and environmental performance in accordance with organisation, directorate and branch objectives and standard operating procedures.
What you'll bringRelevant tertiary (or equivalent) qualification and/or significant knowledge of and experience in asset field data capture and asset management.Well-developed interpersonal, written and communication skills in the areas of consultation, negotiation, and assertiveness with an ability to transfer knowledge to other capable team members.Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to research issues, interpret and analyse information, determine an appropriate course of action and provide sound advice, options or recommendations.Proven ability to work within an asset data team environment with demonstrable experience in managing multiple tasks, that may have impact beyond the work area; with the ability to plan, organise and prioritise work and resources to reach agreed and successful conclusions.A 'can do' person who thrives on innovatively solving problems in a complex environment.Ability to work supervised and unsupervised in the office or field environment.
