The successful candidate will work within an established Estimation team delivering end-to-end Estimation and engineering expertise to leading the continued growth and improvement of this highly reputable Civil Contractor

Our client continues to grow its portfolio of major infrastructure projects within QLD and interstate. With this growth comes the excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to join their team in Brisbane on a permanent basis.

As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following;

- Proven experience estimation of Bridges, Marine Piling and Civil Infrastructure
- Piling, Structures, FRP works ( Form Rio Pour ) Bridge Abundant, Marine Piling Civil Earthworks
- Working within an Estimating team and reporting to Pre Contracts Manager National company directors reviewing tender specifications and drawings to determine material and resource requirements
- Complete assigned estimates on time and with accuracy to ensure
profitability, considering risk factors and construction methods
- Review proposal specifications and drawings and attend pre-bid
meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
- Assist in preparing subcontract and material enquiries and review
subsequent quotations
- Appreciate engineering techniques, construction processes, and their
suitability to different applications
- Review terms and conditions of subcontractor and vendor quotes; serve
as a liaison with subcontractors and vendors during the bidding process
- Liaise with project teams to ensure output and resource data is collected
providing feedback for future tenders
- Advising project managers on budget, contractual requirements and resources
- Assist in preparing and presenting the commercial aspects of the tender
to the Pre-Contracts Manager for adjudication and approval
- Participate in tender reviews, ensuring the tender process is regularly
reviewed to identify opportunities for improvement
- Assist in preparing documentation and presentation material for
prequalification, bids and projects.
- Contract Development
- Participate in client facing meetings and negotiations following bid
Submission
Work with clients team to ensure contract documentation is reflected in
tendered works
Represent the company at the site inspection and in pre-award
negotiations with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Support and encourage new ideas. Take an innovative approach to
problem solving and demonstrate a willingness to try different solutions.What do you do bring?
This opportunity is ideally suited to as a Senior Civil Estimator with proven Civil Infrastructure experience, ideally with Bridges and Marine Piling exposure.
- Bachelor level degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Post graduate studies in Project Management and/or Business Management / Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 8 x Years recent experience
- Passion required to win projects and ultimately lead to extended company growth and success
- Estimation of Projects ranging from $1m-$50m
- Competent in use of Expert Estimation software, Microsoft Excel, and Project
- Ability to manage the bid process including development of construction
methodology, temporary works, programming, and pricing of works
- Experience with hard dollar, design and construct, early contractor
involvement, alliance and other procurement methods in subcontract,
head contract, and joint venture roles
