About the centre
North Melbourne Recreation Centre (NMRC) is an aquatic and recreation Centre that supports participation in sport at all levels, from family to professional. It is also home to North Melbourne Football Club and Fencing Victoria. The Centre is designed to provide the community with a range of recreational, social, cultural and educational experiences. NMRC is located at 206 Arden St, North Melbourne and includes the following facilities. One Court Stadium Health Club Group Fitness Room Spin Room Multi-Purpose Rooms Outdoor Heated Pool Outdoor Heated Toddler Pool.
About the role
As the Operations Coordinator, you will manage and lead a team of Pool Lifeguards (peak season) and Duty Managers (all year) staff to ensure that the delivery of the programs and services meets and exceeds the required standards. You will lead, inspire, and motivate teams through clear and achievable team goals and ensure high standards of implementation of Policies and Procedures.
A key function of the role will be ensuring that all aquatic facilities provide a safe, clean and enjoyable environment at all times with the minimal downtime of facilities.
North Melbourne Recreation Centre is a seasonal pool facility. The Operations Coordinator will work in a full time capacity in preparation for, and the duration of, the peak season (September to May), and will work in a part time capacity during the off peak season and continue to oversee the Centre's operations and Duty Managing teams.
The hourly rate for this role is $28.01 + super. Working hours are based on a flexible rotating roster that provides leadership to teams across the full hours of operation.

First Aid certificate CPR certificate Pool Lifeguard Skill Set Swim Teacher accreditation (or willingness to obtain - funding may be available) Other Desired Qualifications
Leadership experience Relevant diploma or equivalent Sport and Recreation and / or Facility Operations experience SISSS00110 -Aquatic Technical Operator Skill Set PUAFER005 -Operate as Part of an Emergency Control Organisation (Fire Warden Certificate) Proven skills and knowledge in aquatic facility operation Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation is highly advantageous At the Y, we are committed to empowering all Children and Young People to feel safe and be safe.
