The role

Reporting into the Coordinator - Major Works, the Project Manager will manage and deliver a range of high value, complex, public realm and Community Infrastructure projects.

The Senior Project manager will be responsible for:

- Planning, designing and delivering community facility projects in the Capital (New Works) Program in accordance with the Project Brief/Business Case and within time and budget.
- Reviewing condition of building systems (mechanical, electrical, etc) and structures (i.e. condition reports) and provide advice on improvement plans.
- Applying standards, project and contract management processes in the development and delivery of community facilities, that have a high level of sustainability.
- Providing professional engineering and technical specialist advice to ensure best practice and good risk management.
- Providing timely and high-quality reports to meet corporate requirements.
- Undertaking superintendent representative duties for major contracts and ensure appropriate procurement
and contract processes are implemented.

What you will need to be successful

We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Project Manager who has demonstrated experience in the delivery of Built Form and Community Infrastructure projects. This individual will have a demonstrated understanding of the diverse nature of projects within Local Government. You will have knowledge of construction industry principles and practices and experience in successfully managing contracts and contractors.

The successful candidate must be a registered engineer or in the process of becoming one.

You will be someone who leads from the front, thinks methodically, can work both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment, as well as someone who possesses a high standard of stakeholder management, problem solving, negotiation and engagement skills.
