job detailsRandstad are excited to currently be partnering with a large State Government Department to recruit a VPS4 Infrastructure Analyst. This position is based out of the Melbourne CBD but will have access to flexible working arrangements. The initial term of contract will be 6 months on a full-time basis.
The ideal candidate for this position will be skilled and possess a keen eye for detail within demonstrated experience in project management, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, communication and systems thinking. They will provide advice and support to the broader team, identifying and implementing strategic approaches for sector development/improvement whilst also managing and mitigating strategic and system risks.
About our Client
Our client is a newly created subsidiary of DEECA focusing on strengthening Victorias waste and recycling sector by creating sustainable markets for recycling products. Their intent is to help drive economic investment and growth by establishing more stability and certainty in the waste and resource recovery sector.
Your new role
As a VPS4 Infrastructure Analyst your duties will be tasks including but not limited to
...
- Leading and coordinating projects (from inception to finalisation) to support wider departmental/divisional plans
- Coordination and preparation of project reporting and communications relating to the program.
- Engaging directly with government and non-governmental stakeholders as required in order to support broader engagement for the program. This could include actions such as organising meetings, workshops etc
- Engaging with contractors to develop effective, evidence-based materials and advice to support the development of infrastructure across the state in order to achieve desired outcomes
- Supporting the team's management of the overall program, including project scoping, planning, delivery and reporting.
- Contributing to broader divisional strategic action (i.e. market intelligence and reporting, sector risk and contingency planning, infrastructure planning and strategic procurement interventions) in order to strengthen sector resilience.
- Supporting and helping maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and are a part of day to day operations.
What will you need to be successful in this role
To be considered for this role you will need to address and demonstrate the following selection criteria;
- Demonstrated capability to effectively collaborate and consult with a wide range of stakeholders whilst using strategic thinking to identify effective solutions.
- Demonstrated capability to effectively collaborate and consult with a wide range of stakeholders whilst using strategic thinking to identify effective solutions.
- Demonstrated project management experience using a project management framework demonstrating skills in budgeting, reporting, scoping, planning, risk management delivering and closing projects.
- Demonstrated ability to develop grants programs, scopes of work and contracts and effectively plan and manage milestone delivery to meet due dates and budget forecast.
- Strong written and oral communication skills including demonstrated capability to communicate effectively with a broad range of audiences.
- A demonstrated ability to multi-task while being resilient and adaptable to the demands of a fast-paced agile work environment is essential
- Exceptional analytical and research skills, displaying meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Extensive experience and knowledge in planning and performance, particularly within the local government realm.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases, coupled with the capacity to adapt to various technology applications for reporting and data analysis.
Knowledge and experience in waste management is desirable but not required
Preferred candidates will be those who have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in business, environments, continuous improvement or similar fields;
- Demonstrated experience to delivery project management services;
- Demonstrated experience engaging with key stakeholders in previous roles to manage practical outcomes.
