Job Description
Reporting to the GM, with daily tasking and interaction with the Director of Operations, Australia, and in concert with colleagues across the organisation's MARCOM function, develop strategic thought leadership and media outreach campaigns for the business.This is a broad scope of effort requiring highly effective engagement at all levels of the organisation to produce content and marketing materials by writing and editing press releases, media materials, talking points and key messaging, speeches, scripts, articles, whitepapers, social media posts, business presentations, etc.Additionally, the individual will coordinate advertising and sponsorship opportunities and trade show participation, partnering with the company's designated consultant agencies (public relations, advertising, branding, research firms) and Segment and Sector Marketing & Communications Leads and teams.Responsibilities:
- Drives media engagement for the business across print, digital and social platforms
- Develop and propose annual MARCOM budget in collaboration with Segment MARCOM leadership, and will be required to help keep projects on budget and schedule
- Some travel is required, up to 20%, including possible New Zealand and Asia-Pacific work
- Position requires interaction across all levels of management including senior executives
- External relationships will include print and digital media representatives, PR and communications agencies, other company representatives and government agencies
- Correct inaccuracies, anticipate and manage crisis communications. Plans, creates and disseminates information using appropriate social media to drive business strategy for products
- Identifies, secures and prepares key thought leaders and internal spokespeople to provide perspective and insight to the media
- Ensures compliance with company policies and standards, including ethics standards
- May represent the company at press conferences, briefings, trade shows and presentations on company issues
- Write and/or edit material for organisation publications and supervise work of outside consultants, including public relations agencies

* Acts as company's spokesperson, and develops productive relationships with media and advocacy organisations
* Plans, creates and disseminates information using appropriate social media to drive business strategy for products
* Leads growth of the organisation's on-line presence; Must be familiar with social media posting tools
* Raises positive impressions in key customer groups and labor pools to solidify the organisation's position as 'Tier 1 Australia Defence Partner', a 'Sovereign Industrial Capability' and 'Australian Aerospace and Defence Employer of Choice'
Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience
* Corporate Aerospace, Aviation and/or Defense background (preferred)
* Prior work with national public relations firm or national media outlet (preferred)
* Prior 9 + years of military or corporate-level experience (preferred)
Security Requirements
A BASELINE security clearance is required for this position.
Candidates must be an Australian citizen and have a checkable background of at least 5 years. A current BASELINE security clearance is highly desirable
