About Our ClientOur client is responsible for whole-of-government coordination of policy development, program design, and service delivery for Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islander people, who are grouped under the term Indigenous Australians.
Job Description
- Understanding of APS recruitment and selection processes and practices
- Ability to interpret legislation, directions and the PS Act
- Ability to communicate with influence with a broad range of stakeholders
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a proactive way under pressure and with limited direction to meet tight timeframes, including responding quickly and flexibly to change.
- Experience working with HR systems eg Acendre (eRecruit) and Aurion or similar systems.
- Be self-aware, culturally competent and foster respect and inclusion in the workplace
- Leadership experience including supporting, mentoring and guiding staff(APS6).
The Successful Applicant
Our ideal candidates will have exceptional administration, organisation, project management and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work with a high level of attention to detail in a fast paced and changing environment.
You will demonstrate a broad knowledge of relevant HR legislation particularly recruitment and have the ability to apply this knowledge to a variety of situations using good judgement and discretion.
These positions are required to liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities and service providers. You will require cultural competency, including:
- understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
- demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
- demonstrated capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency.
