We believe that treatment with medicinal cannabis should not be considered in isolation, and hence our clinics offer a comprehensive, holistic and patient centered approach, working closely with the patients regular primary care team.
Role:
We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse, ideally with experience working in general practice or an outpatient setting, to join our friendly team. We are looking for someone who can work in a challenging and developing environment with flexible hours. This role is a casual relief position expected to be 3 - 6 months however could develop into a long term role. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a specialised role. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to learn and work well as part of a team. They will be honest, reliable and trustworthy.
Responsibilities:Conduct initial screening telephone consultations with patients contacting our serviceUndertaking structured patient assessments via Telehealth, with the support of the treating doctor.Working with patients on setting treatment goals and developing plans for care.Explaining the practicalities of medicinal cannabis treatment to patients and answering questions.Undertaking treatment monitoring consultations via Telehealth.Acting as a point of contact for patients, responding to queries and escalating to medical practitioners as appropriate.Maintaining detail and accurate medical records.Maintaining confidentiality
Required Skill/Experience:Current AHPRA registrationExperience working in a GP clinic or within an outpatient clinic or specialist nursing serviceExperience in undertaking patient assessments or care planningExcellent clinical communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively with other cliniciansCommitment to providing an excellent standard of patient care.Ability to maintain detailed and comprehensive patient records.Working with Children Check ClearanceEligibility to work in Australia.Experience with medicinal cannabis medicine would be an advantage but is not a requirement - full training will be provided.
