About the role
This role is focused on ensuring the highest levels of guest service standards to ensure positive guest experiences. You will demonstrate work practices to allow for maximum learning under the guidance of the commis chefs and Head Chef. You will also be responsible for the cleaning and basic food preparation duties within the kitchen or food preparation areas and maintain strict hygiene and safety procedures.
About you
To be successful you must:Be able to work within a small team without supervisionBe available to work a minimum of 25hrs per week on a flexible roster, including nights and weekendsFood preparation and 1 year experience working in a commercial kitchen is preferredHave excellent communication skillsBe a team playerProven strong guest/ customer service skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProven reporting and accountability skillsOrganisation and planningAbility to perform autonomouslyFlexibility and reliabilityProven ability to handle difficult situationsInterpersonal and relationship buildingAttention to detail in preparation & food presentation
These key requirements will be appreciated with experience and skills in the following areas:Minimum of 1 year hotel, restaurant or cruise ship experience - EssentialCertificate Qualification in Hospitality DesirableFood Safety Certificate - DesirableExperience in working in a fast paced team - EssentialGuest service experience EssentialExperience in food provision services DesirableExperience in the Tourism and or Hospitality Industry - Desirable
