Job summary
job detailsWe have multiple opportunities now available for an experienced Financial Analyst to join NSW Government!
- $400-$650 per day + super
- Location: Sydney CBD & Western Sydney
- 6-12 month contract
As a Financial Analyst, youll contribute and assist with the periodic budgeting and forecasting including performing financial variance and trend analysis.
You will help ensure that the budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting and year end reporting requirements are met for the assigned entities.
Key accountabilities
- Prepare accurate and complete financial information, reports, analysis and notes which meet all legislative and accounting standards and requirements under tight timeframes
- Reviewing of client support documentation for current & past clients
- Assisting with compiling annual budget packs, yearly budgeting process and forecasting
- Analysis of SAP for all accounting enquiries and data collection
- Manage key stakeholders and maintain good working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
- Influence and drive best practice budgeting and forecasting
- Assist in the monthly and yearly reporting processes (financial and management reporting)
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements, notes and accompanying work papers
- Contribute to the maintenance of high-level data integrity and quality accounting records
- Assist within the team to meet cyclical workflow deadlines and any other duties as required
- Assist in the audit process including implementing audit recommendations
- Participate in the development and/or revision of financial accounting policy and procedures manuals
- Provide technical advice on accounting and financial matters including preparation of accounting position papers and explaining technical information to non-finance stakeholders
- Prepare high quality correspondence, reports, briefs and financial analysis when required.
About the ideal candidate:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance OR CA/CPA Qualification
- Experience in SAP with a good understanding of the end to end process
- Public Sector experience is highly desirable.
