About Our ClientMichael Page have partnered with MiTek in their search for a Automation Technology Manager APAC. The position will be based out of their facility in Dandenong South. MiTek is a global supplier of software, engineered products, services and automated manufacturing equipment to the building industry. Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct and control sourcing and supply of machinery to customers in the APAC region.
- Assist local sales staff to specify/design solution for customer
- Direct costing / quoting process for sales staff.
- Manage procurement of machinery & parts through purchasing staff, using QAD equipment projects as required.
- Manage delivery time frames, shipping details, customer preparation requirements, etc.
- Assist/support "Machinery Support Mangers" during installation process by providing training etc. for ongoing support.
- Direct and control the development of software for machinery, supplied to customers in the APAC region. Machinery includes MiTek built and third-party equipment where MiTek must support its use at Fabricators.
- Direct the local software and support requirements
- Interact with US based production/machinery software team to set product direction to ensure local APAC requirements are met.
- Manage the development of new machinery products for the APAC region.
- Direct mechanical design process, either internally or by third party suppliers.
- Direct electrical designs for control systems, influencing the functionality, hardware selection, and safety control systems.
- Direct software development process/requirements.
- Manage core product range continuous improvement process and manufacturing updates, working with internal and third-party suppliers to MiTek to ensure machinery meets MiTek and AS standards and customer/market expectations.
- Provide sales support to sales team with plant layouts, customer technical sales needs, machinery/process design/validation.
- Direct purchasing process for spare parts & manage spare parts stocking and sales.
- Provide training and resources to support state offices for customer machine maintenance, and machinery marketing and sales activities.
- Ensure all equipment sold by MiTek Australia meets company standards and complies with relevant OH&S requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date information on competitor equipment, understanding the APAC market requirement/expectations.
- Work with Marketing team to develop/maintain a machinery strategy for the APAC region.
- Maintain and develop systems to ensure high departmental productivity and quality of service for internal and external customers.
- Provide backup to APAC sales/customer support team for technical support of customers, up to and including site visits if required.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
- Extensive proficiency in using CAD packages such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, Sketchup, etc.
- Solid understanding of the Australian Standard for machine safety.
- Strong knowledge of MiTek's machinery and the Fabricator production process.
- Proven experience in directing and controlling the sourcing and supply of machinery.
- Ability to assist sales staff in specifying and designing solutions for customers.
- Proficiency in managing the costing and quoting process for machinery sales.
- Experience in managing procurement processes and coordinating delivery time frames.
- Ability to provide training and support during the installation process for machinery.
- Expertise in software development for machinery, including collaboration with US-based software teams.
- Experience in directing mechanical and electrical design processes for control systems.
- Knowledge of hardware selection and safety control systems.
- Strong project management skills for managing the development of new machinery products.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and manufacturing updates for machinery.
- Sales support skills, including plant layouts, technical sales needs, and design/validation.
- Proficient in managing the purchasing process for spare parts and maintaining stocking.
- Ability to provide training and resources for customer machine maintenance and sales activities.
- Understanding and compliance with company standards and relevant OH&S requirements.
- Up-to-date knowledge of competitor equipment and APAC market requirements.
- Collaborative mindset to work with the marketing team in developing a machinery strategy.
