About Our ClientYou will be joining a well-established manufacturing company that has a long history of producing a range of both metal and plastic packaging options for its customers. With a range of slitters, lathes, printing, packaging machines and other plant equipment on-site there is plenty to keep you busy.
Job Description
You will work very closely with the afternoon shift electrician, along with other fitters and members of the maintenance, production, and management teams to ensure the site, equipment and machinery are maintained and operating correctly.There is a fitter and electrician on each shift, you will have plenty of support and training and enjoy a fixed afternoon shift at a site that operates 24/5 Some of your day-to-day duties will include;
- Perform all maintenance, repairs and breakdowns on plant and fixed machinery, including a range of printing and packaging machines (mix of old and new equipment on site)
- Liaise with internal and external teams, including specialised contractors and sometimes suppliers to order parts
- Manual handling work, fault finding, repairs, basic maintenance
- Some welding (MIG) if required
- Be involved with capital and project works, new installs and other improvement initiatives

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Trade qualifications as a Maintenance Fitter
- Extensive experience working in a manufacturing facility with high-speed lines
- Experience in the printing and/or packaging industry would be preferred - however, is training provided
- Excellent communication and a positive team player who is safety focused
- Reliable and someone who takes on responsibility and can work autonomously
- Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills

Although we would love someone who has some experience with printing or packaging machines, you will be working in a skilled maintenance team and will receive complete training on all processes and equipment, a willingness to learn and experience working within a similar industry will ensure you hit the ground running.

- $50 - $53 per hour (including 15% shift loading) based on a 38-hr week + super + overtime

Fixed Afternoon Shift, hours are: Monday -Thursday 2pm-10pm
Friday 12pm-6pm
