We are seeking an experienced Part Time/ Casual Medical Receptionist to work onsite on 2-3 week days approximately during school hours (12-18 hours per week) for our practice in Edithvale. We are a multidisciplinary mental health provider providing excellent onsite and telehealth psychiatry and psychology services in the local community and beyond.

Main Responsibilities
Front desk duties including greeting patients and liaising with families and verifying/updating details Telephone duties of receiving, redirecting calls
Answering and redirecting emails
Use of Medical Software (Zedmed) for the following:
Patient data entry, in-mailing practitioners with link to patient, managing and optimising appointment bookings, collecting and processing payments, billing and batching (processing Medicare Online and DVA claims), reconciliation and closing accounts, sending reports using Argus, scanning, printing.
General office duties including filing, faxing, photocopying, scanning, opening and distributing mails, keeping track of key expendable items and report to Practice Manager
Applying Practice Privacy Policies into daily work routine to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
All other ad hoc staff duties (e.g retrieving mail from mail box and posting mail)
Supporting our clinicians to ensure the smooth running of the practice
Essential Selection Criteria
Minimum 12 months previous experience in Medical Reception Role
Experience with Zedmed software (will be tested during final interview process)
Ability to work independently and in a small team
Excellent communication skills
Ability to follow and remember procedures and processes
Flexibility with hours (Casual staff will need to be available to cover leave in blocks as well as random days at short notice due to operational requirements)
Professional telephone manners and presentation
Work well under pressure in a busy practice
Strong prioritization and time management skills
Keen eye for detail and high accuracy in data entry
Desirable Criteria
Medicare/DVA Batching experience
Experience in managing appointment bookings
Ability to contribute to the continual improvement of the practice
