We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our team based in Dandenong South. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll processing of approximately 200 employees across Australia and New Zealand. This role will require someone who has an excellent understanding of ATO legislation, industrial relations and Award interpretation as well as payroll system architectural design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process end-to-end weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Interpret Industrial Awards/Agreements and relevant legislation
- Manage Employee Self-Service Systems (ESS) and T&A system (Kronos) as administrator to provide ESS and T&A supports to managers and employees.
- Process all end of pay requirements including but not limited to payroll related general ledger reporting, payroll clearing accounts reconciliation, payroll tax submission, superannuation clearing house management and payroll financial year-end.
- Meet Australia and New Zealand legislative and statutory obligations through processing and preparation of returns, related reports, forms and other documentation as requested.
- Resolve/answer queries relating to payroll across the organisation.
- Support the financial controller to manage payroll related projects and other tasks as requested.
Desired qualities:
- At least five years' experience in a similar role within a large multi-faceted business
- A tertiary qualification in accounting or finance will be highly regarded
- Experience using Ascender PayANZ/Preceda, Netpay (NZ) and Kronos highly desirable
- Proven experience in handling a high volume of payroll tasks
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills, with careful attention to detail
