Your key responsibilities:
- Act as a subject-matter expert in Kronos and ensure that team is effectively trained and mentored in Chris21 payroll system
- Manage and assist/advise/support internal departments with queries, reporting responsibilities, general payroll needs as required
- Ensure that team provides superior customer service whilst managing responsibilities
- Maintain a high degree of process and quality
- Complete superannuation and tax processing and reporting, manage over/underpayment adjustments and other higher level duties such as reconciliations
- Maintain appropriate deadlines as an individual and for the team, ensuring that tasks are adequately resourced and monitored
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of related awards/EBAs, ensuring compliance
- Ensure accurate employee records and maintenance
- Conduct sample audits on masterfile and transaction processes, whilst communicating with and assisting auditors
- Undertake additional responsibilities in the absence of the Manager, Payroll & Benefits as appropriate and as delegated.
- Maintain team ethic and service standards
- Deliver a process-improvement mindset whilst continuously observing internal codes of conduct, policy and procedure.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a payroll team leader or in a similar supervisory role of 10+ years
- Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, as well as experience with payroll systems and software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to lead and motivate a team
- Knowledge and strong skills in the use of Chris21 payroll and Kronos timekeeping systems
