Role Overview:

The Management Accountant will be responsible for various financial management tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and management reporting. Your expertise will be essential in conducting cost-benefit analyses, scenario modelling for revenue streams, and resource allocation. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and collaborate with stakeholders across the university.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling aligned with the needs of the client group.
- Prepare cost-benefit analyses and develop scenario modelling for revenue streams and resource allocation.
- Monitor financial performance and prepare surveys related to financial accounts.
- Provide analysis and insights to enhance financial capability, operating performance, and business growth.
- Manage Acquittal reports and internal/external reporting to key stakeholders and funding bodies.
- Assist in completing the annual business group consolidation.
- Contribute to recommendations for effective finance system changes.
- Enhance process efficiency and implement performance improvement measures.
- Cultivate strong relationships with staff, clients, government authorities, and stakeholders.
- Contribute expertise to the development and review of financial policies and procedures.
- Identify and address issues and risks associated with financial management initiatives and policy changes.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations and uphold business protocols and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance or business with substantial experience in management accounting or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (CA) or Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Australia is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in finance, accounting, budgeting, and income/expenditure management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Strong team player with a track record of collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and receptive to change with sound judgement and initiative.
- Understanding of financial management principles, policies, and relevant legislative requirements.
- High-level analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
- Effective organisational skills, including time management and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Proficiency in financial accounting software and advanced Microsoft Office skills, including SAP, TM1 and Excel modelling.
- Willingness to travel to other campuses when required.
- Availability for occasional additional hours during peak periods.
- Successful completion of a National Police Record check.
