Job Description
As the Senior Finance Officer you will be responsible for managing 2 direct reports, including yearly performance appraisals, you will be reporting directly to the company's Director and be heavily involved in the assistance of the new system and process implementation to improve company efficiency.
Ultimately, this is a hands-on role within a small business, so your duties will be varied, but key responsibilities will include:
- Day to day accounts receivable
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Analyse sales reports
- Month-end journals and process preparation for the external accountant
- BAS returns
- Annual Fringe benefits tax reporting
- fixed asset management
The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven success in accounts payable/receivable and bookkeeping, demonstrating a solid understanding of financial processes and procedures
- A calm, positive, and adaptable attitude, allowing you to navigate through various challenges and work effectively in a changing environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling you to interact with team members, stakeholders, and external parties with clarity and professionalism
- Ideally, you would have managed a team before formally or informally such as mentoring or helping new starters
