Job Description

Oversee the Corporate Finance function

* Management of the Corporate finance team including performance development, training and review of day-to-day activities;
* Maintain the integrity of financial records and financial systems for the accounting functions;
* Supervise all month end close tasks as assigned;
* Review corporate general ledger journals (as required);
* Review Balance Sheet reconciliations as assigned; and
* Provide assistance and resolve queries regarding financial matters from internal and external stakeholders.

Corporate Tax and Indirect Taxes

* Manage income tax process including tax affect accounting to full income tax return;
* Manage all matters relating to indirect taxes, including but not limited to GST, FBT, Payroll Taxes, and ESS;
* Maintain the integrity of the Tax Risk Governance Framework, including continuous improvement of processes to address identified tax risks;
* Be point of contact for external tax advisors on key tax matters.

Statutory Compliance and Financial Reporting

* Guide and where required assist the preparation of monthly management reports for presentation to senior management;
* Identify and ensure the provision of key management reports relevant to the needs of senior management and the Board (and related committees);
* Liaise with and maintain relationships with the external auditors, tax consultants and finance providers; and
* Ensure all statutory reporting obligations of the company are met including (but not limited to), annual and interim statutory reporting (AIFRS or equivalent compliant), ASX reporting requirements, taxation reporting and lodgements.

Risk Management and Internal Control Maintenance

* Identify potential risks to the financial reporting and tax processes and maintain controls appropriate to the management of these risks;
* Assist with the design, implementation and monitoring of internal controls; and
* Development of risk management strategies appropriate to the size and growth of the company.

Miscellaneous & Projects as required

* Assist the accounts team as and when required (and provide back-up when senior members of the team are busy/unavailable);
* Assist with commercial matters and processes as required;
* Assist with the implementation of improvement projects and processes as required; and
* Assist the senior management team as and when required.

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have experience in the following areas:

- A strong technical background with a track record in managing statutory compliance and financial reporting, taxation compliance, corporate accounting and risk management, ideally within an ASX listed environment.

- Previous experience in the big 4 firms will be highly regarded, although not essential.

- Experience within mining will be highly regarded, although not essential.

- Previous experience leading small - medium sized teams will be highly regarded.
