Job Description
- The Group Business Systems Lead will actively contribute to support systems development and embrace cutting edge technology to drive business development. This position will be responsible for SAP system management and effective delivery of a range of SAP systems modifications in the future.
- The Group Business Systems Lead is accountable for ensuring the effective engagement with, and delivery of IT technical support services including all levels of support activities.
- This position requires the occupant to develop working relationships with management, peers and other functional areas within the Group.
- Management and oversight of SAP platform, including security, patching, functional and technical upgrades
- Champion the development and ongoing improvement of the SAP global ERP implementation, including the coordination of the bi-monthly stakeholder meetings.
- Champion the management of SAP systems architecture and operations, including integration with 3rd Party products & partners.
- Produce or coordinate production of SAP dashboards and reports to meet business requirements.
- Champion SAP client support, UAT testing and training.
- Liaise with SAP partners during systems upgrade, module implementation and fine tuning.
- Coordinate systems testing during SAP new version releases and enhancements.
- Take the lead on managing internal IT projects, reporting to the Group IT Manager and other senior business stakeholders on the progress of initiatives.
- Assist in the provision and support of IT infrastructure and services including desktop applications, Local and / or Wide area networks, IT security and telecommunications.
The Successful Applicant
- Experience in SAP ERP with a mining or manufacturing environment is desirable. However the employer is willing to provide support if you have experience on similar ERP systems.
- Maintain an ongoing awareness of emerging developments and trends in technology that could impact current projects and influence new projects.
- Experience in full IT project management.
- Deep understanding of underlying technologies; demonstrate keen interest in upgrading the skills to emerging technologies.
- Exposed to various tools for creating design artefacts and give recommendations on this to the project team.
- Have good knowledge of data warehousing, creating and running analytical queries.
- Ability to understand and analyse test reports to ensure that quality goals are reached.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and document the changes required.
- Strong analytical, communication and time management skills.
