About Our ClientYou will be joining an Australian contracting manufacturer that makes a wide range of well-known and loved health and wellness products, vitamins, shakes and other products in the pharmaceutical industry.
Job Description
As a well-established pharmaceutical business with a strong history in Australia, you will be joining a team who have over 250 staff onsite, from office to warehouse, production, quality, engineering and R&D teams.The current WHS coordinator has been in the seat for a few years and now needs to relocate interstate.
As such, the role has been reviewed along with the company's growth plans, now is the time to join the team as this position evolves into a more strategic, leadership & growth phase.Some of your day-to-day activities will include;
- Lead, develop, review, and implement a range of safety policies, procedures systems and processes.
- Develop and manage the sustainability program.
- Manage RTW, workers' compensation, and injury management, including all reporting and liaising with insurance companies.
- Maintain and improve the site risk profile and register, lead and conduct risk assessments, develop training programs to manage and identified risks, and manage all incident investigations including reporting and hazard management.
- Drive a safety-first culture, liaising with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement training programs, safety, and well-being initiatives.
- Lead WHSE meetings, suggest improvements and drive best practices.
- Internal audits and liaising with external auditors
The Successful Applicant
Bring your WHSE and Manufacturing experience, along with your people leadership skills and passion for safety to this position and drive the business forward as they continue to grow and evolve.This is a hands-on role, working with multiple internal teams and the leadership team to drive strategic outcomes and foster a safe, positive and inclusive working environment.You will also have:
- Formal qualifications in Work Health & Safety or related field (Minimum cert4 in WHS)
- Knowledge of sustainability improvement programs and national guidelines
- Demonstrated experience in RTW, Injury Management and Worker's Compensation requirements
- Demonstrated experience driving and implementing change within a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of relevant safety & environmental legislation, regulations, codes, and standards. (An understanding of TGA requirements would be great, but not essential)
- Experience with writing, reviewing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Experience auditing safety management systems
- Ability to coach, train, and support internal and external teams
