The approach is with a context of Trauma Informed Practice. The Trauma Informed Practice is a strengths- based approach which recognises the physical, psychological and emotional symptoms o exposure to trauma and which acknowledges the impact of trauma on the individual and the family.
Duties
- Assessment and risk management of clients referred to the team due to issues with mental health, psychosocial issues and suicide risk.
- Escalate serious threats of harm to self or to others
- provide short-term case management by providing expert advice and support
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in order to develop strong support networks for clients
- Maintaining case records according to Departmental standards and collating and analysing data from client records
Salary & Benefits:
-$60 per hour + super, paid weekly
- Melbourne CBD location
- WFH options 3 days per week
Mandatory Skills and Experience:
Qualifications as a registered Psychologist / Mental Health Occupational Therapist /
Mental Health Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration
OR
Qualification as a Social Worker eligible for membership of the Australian
Association Social Workers (AASW) and be eligible to apply for Mental Health accreditation.
AND
- Minimum 2 years experience in clinical service provision
- Expertise in supporting clients experiencing the impacts of substance abuse, mood and anxiety disorders (including PTSD)
- Australian citizen and willing to undertake a police check
Desirable Skills and Experience
Relevant management experience
An understanding of the challenges faced by those who have served in the Australian Defence Force
