job detailsRandstad are currently working with a large Government client to find a Principal Business Analyst for an initial 12 Month Contract. This role is based in Brisbane CBD and allows WFH flexibility. This role will actively undertake business analysis activities to provide information, advice and support to external and internal clients in accordance with the department's systems, policies and relevant legislation. Additionally, they will be providing specialised business analysis services and contributing to the delivery of key priority initiatives. The department are replacing a legacy database application - the solution is being built in house so this role will work closely with the developers.
Key responsibilities:

- Analysis/design of existing business processes, and future business processes, within the context of the information system solution.
- Design and document functional specifications that most efficiently, effectively and consistently meet the business requirements.
- Interpret business requirements and research possible application of the information systems solution to optimise local business outputs.
- Provide critical analytical support and feasibility assessment for the costing and appraisal of new investment and existing initiatives.
- Research and recommend variations to policy and procedural matters affecting the efficient operation of the allocated area of responsibility.
- Building strong working relationships with internal and external customers and other work teams to promote multidisciplinary collaboration and drive the delivery of quality and connected investment governance, appraisal and advisory services.
The ideal candidate for this role will be across the following:
- Databox solutions
- Agile methodologies
- Iteration planning
- User stories (working closely with UX team)
- Leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Data mapping and cleansing
- Reporting
- Data migration
- System testing (mostly manual testing) - test cases and test scripts
