Role: Communications Officer
Salary: $56/ hour + superannuation
Casual: Maternity Cover 6 weeks
Full time office hours Monday to Friday
Darwin based role
This role will suit a candidate who is able provide high level support in multiple complex projects. Previous experience in a communication officer role is highly desirable, Candidates in communications, public relations, or a related area will be highly considered for this role.
Working with the Communications Manager, the Communications Officer is responsible for delivering a variety of communication strategies requiring a high level of detail. This includes the following Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development and implementation of communication strategies, activities, procedures and policies which assist the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives.
- Produce project communications such as correspondence, communication and engagement plans, flyers, social media posts, and web page updates.
- Handle requests for internal communications, providing recommendations of best practice
- Provide advice to managers and other staff in the areas of communications strategies for difficult stakeholders and critical conversations in relation to projects.
- Develop, plan and manage key communication activities such as launches, media opportunities and other events as required.
- Support the communications team in various administrative tasks
- Support emergency management communications when required. Assist with the delivery of future communication planning documents as required.
Key skills and experience:
- Experience in communications officer roles, Public Relations or a related field
- A Team Player who is enthusiastic about project work
- Previous work in the Government Sector not required but highly regarded
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Candidates must hold Valid NT drivers licence
