Your opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect (Microsoft Cloud Applications/Platforms) to work across a range of Microsoft technologies in a senior level consultancy role. This is a permanent opportunity and can be based in either Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney, as a hybrid working arrangement; or fully remote from your home office.

As a Solutions Architect, you will become a trusted advisor to our clients; providing advice and next steps to enable and realize their business needs. You will also play a key role in pre-sales activities, working alongside the client services teams to identify opportunities, and enable project outcomes.

You will be involved in all phases of the SOCOs methodology (the 4Ds) and will pro-actively stay involved to ensure all architecture and design best practices are adhered to and provide advice or support where needed.

Your responsibilities will include:Architect and design (holistic) fit-for-purpose solutions that meet and exceed customer expectationsGather architecture requirements and provide advice on designs/architecture to meet these requirementsCreate high-quality architecture and design documentsAct as a trusted advisor to clients and, identify and develop opportunities based on customer needs and strategic objectivesReview customer requirements gathered by business analysts and provide feedback on their feasibility and qualityEstimate effort for solutions and identify required skill sets based on customer requirementsIdentify and effectively communicate potential architecture risks or issues as they ariseContribute to the discovery, design and delivery of solutions following SOCOs methodology, often taking a lead in the discovery and design phasesSupport sales with presales activities that help formulate strong and compelling proposalsSupport PMO with the planning of the solution implementation with regard to required skills, methodology, and high-level backlogAre We a Match?

SOCO and this role is an ideal match for you if you:Are a seasoned solutions architect (10+ years) with proven experience in delivering fit-for-purpose architecturesHave the ability to architect solutions in the domains of Business, Data, Application and TechnologyPossess strong analytical skills to solve complex business and technology challengesSuccessfully convey your architectures by adjusting your language and communication style to different types of stakeholdersHave the proven ability to understand business domains, understand their challenges and elicit requirementsAre highly experienced in solution estimation and delivery planningAre highly experienced (6 + years) in at least 3 of the following technology areas: M365, D365, Power Platform, Azure, custom development (.net/API)Possess strong modelling skills using modelling standards such as UML and BPMNHave experience leading and facilitating client workshops for purposes of requirements gathering, design/architecture validation and stakeholder managementHave strong influencing and communication skills with clients and colleagues to quickly gain their confidence and trustAre an approachable team playerRole model a high level of emotional maturity, a curious nature with a growth mindset as well as a can do approachWork well under pressure and to deadlines, sometimes across multiple engagementsHave solid experience in and a passion for coaching and mentoring other staff members and uplifting technical and consulting capabilityPossess strong written and verbal communication skills, communicating clearly and logically with internal and external stakeholdersHave the capability to work with and build relationships with C-level stakeholdersAre an Australian citizen and eligible to obtain Australian government baseline security clearance

It would be great if you also had experience in/with:Managing and leading client engagementsLeading legacy / on-premises applications to cloud migrationsDeveloping strategies and roadmaps (Cloud, ICT, Digital Transformation, Information Management)System Integration experience and skillsMicrosoft accreditation/certificationsTOGAF framework and certification
