Bionics Institute's extensive research focuses on six main areas, including brain research, autoimmune and chronic conditions, hearing and vision, bionic limbs, chronic pain, and incubators. Together, they transform the lives of people with a range of conditions including Alzheimer's disease, hearing impairment, Crohn's disease, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, stroke, dementia, and arthritis.
Job Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager, your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Preparation of management reports and cashflow forecasts for both the Institute and associates
- Reconciliation of more complex general ledger accounts in the general ledger
- Assisting the team with the annual budget
- Maintaining the fixed assets and depreciation register
- BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax, Superannuation and Work Cover for the Institute and associated companies
- Supporting the Payroll Officer with more complex Payroll issues including uploading bank files and the provision for long service and annual leave
- Liaising with Bank including opening and closing bank and credit card accounts
- Raising invoices according to contracts and the recovery of debtors
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
- Bachelors in Accounting and CPA/CA Qualification or working towards
- Experience working for a Not-for-Profit is highly desired, but not essential
- Experience with the Accounting systems MS Dynamics GP and XERO is advantageous
- Experience with Payroll software ADP is advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in an open plan environment
