About the Role
This role of the support worker is to provide exceptional service whilst supporting Interact Australias clients to meet their goals as set out in their NDIS plan. This includes;Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the clients level of independence. This may include community participation, skill building, vocational preparation, relationship building, and various other needs.Respond to the clients needs and collaborate positively with their families, support people and others in their lives.Keep accurate and complete records of activities via progress notesWork within the NDIS Code of Conduct
Who you are
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent), and the following attributes;Working with Children Blue cardCompletion of NDIS Worker Orientation ModuleAn understanding of NDIS and a commitment to its principlesAbility to work in partnership with NDIS participants to achieve their goalsA passion for assisting individuals with a disability to improve their quality of life and to reach their potentialDriver's Licence and own car, and a willingness to use for transporting clients (where required)The ability to work up to 38 hours weekly including weekends, please do not apply at this time if you are seeking part-time or reduced hoursCOVID-19 Vaccination, it is a Queensland Government requirement that all individuals working within Healthcare Settings, including Disability Support Services are vaccinated against COVID-19, or evidence of medical exemption.
Please note: Successful applicants will join our pool of casual Support Workers. Due to the support needs of our clients, you must be willing to work on short notice for shifts (including short shifts, night shifts, weekends and public holidays) to be considered for these roles. Permanent shifts are not guaranteed but are available for the right workers.
Please note: The successful candidate will be required to participate in an Australian Federal Police check, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Worker Screening and a Working with Children Check, prior to confirmation of appointment to the position.
The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
