Your new role
The Finance Officer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents. The position is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.
The Finance Officer will provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. It may be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the objectives.

- Analysing and interpreting statistical reports to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects.
- Coordinating and providing cost estimates for all internal and external requests for changes to systems.
- Developing correspondence for stakeholders, such as financial reports, corporate documentation and responses to ministerial submissions.
- Exercising appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines.
- Managing quality assurance activities and outcomes including the use of integrity/error reporting and the coordination of quality audits.
- Preparing a range of written material including business cases, reports and corporated documentation.
- Undertaking quality assurance of feasibility and cost estimates, assumptions and justifications.
- Undertaking detailed financial analysis of branch/divisions variance to budget and forecast.
- Undertaking financial administration and across the divisions cost centers and projects, including
- budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals.

- Communicate clear information and instructions to other team members
- Help a team achieve its goals by sharing information, involving team members in decisions, and demonstrating commitment to the team
- Approach change positively and adjust quickly when faced with changes in work responsibilities, processes, or environment
- Manage ones time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently and on schedule despite distractions or other obstacles
- Handle stress appropriately and maintain effective performance when facing pressure or opposition
- Persist in achieving goals when faced with obstacles by doubling efforts or trying multiple strategies
- Set high standards of performance, quality, and accountability for oneself and others
