job detailsIf you are looking to join a highly motivated, diverse and supportive team then this one is for you! Randstad has teamed up with a large state Government organisation in sourcing for a Senior Workplace Relations Advisor.
In this role you will have the opportunity to plan and implement workplace relations initiatives. This will include enterprise bargaining and dispute resolution, advising and supporting the Executive and managers regarding the prevention and resolution of disputes and grievances, union consultation, performance management processes and termination of employment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Research and investigate queries from managers, employees and unions relating to employee relations issues
- Formulate strategies and provide advice to address potential industrial disputation
- Contribute to the formulation of enterprise bargaining strategy, support the negotiation process and lead negotiations on behalf of the organisation
- Liaise with legal adviser's and specialists to coordinate advice regarding specific industrial relations issues
- Support and coach managers in the prevention and resolution of industrial disputes and grievances leading negotiations with unions
- Ensure effective communication and consultation between managers, employees and their representative union to foster a progressive employee relations culture
- Monitor organisational change processes
What you need to be successful for this role:
- Experience in dealing with complex and sensitive employee relations issues in a public sector organisation
- Experience as an industrial relations advocate before Fair Work Commission and proven ability to negotiate on complex industrial relations matters
- Direct involvement in representing an organisation to negotiate an Enterprise Agreement, ideally in the public sector environment
- Understanding of the current Industrial Relations framework
- Experience in providing strategic industrial relations advice
- Required to possess a current Victorian Driver Licence
