About the Role ...

You will be working within an Agency that is responsible for supporting a better life for Australians with significant and permanent disabilities as well as their families and carers. The Parliamentary and Ministerial Branch manages the relationship between the Agency and Ministers Office. Supporting the Agency with meeting the Minister's objectives and priorities by providing prompt, objective and strategic advice.

As a Ministerial and Parliamentary Officer your responsibilities will include:

- Proofing and editing ministerial correspondence, submissions and briefs prior to ministerial consideration to ensure they meet ministerial requirements for style, preferences and content.
- Monitoring, collating, reporting and communicating feedback from the quality assurance process to Agency drafting and clearing officers to build the Agencys ministerial writing capability.
- Coordinating Community of Practices to build capability and internal stakeholder confidence with ministerial and parliamentary practices.
- Coordinating and drafting input from across the Agency to develop reports and input to portfolio responses.
- Coordinating, drafting and quality checking Briefs, Ministerial Correspondence, Questions on Notice and Senate Briefs using the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS).
- Contributing to the branchs corporate work program, reporting requirements and assisting deliver branch governance obligations.

Skills and Experience:

- Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills to support the preparation of high quality ministerial, parliamentary, and executive documents.
- Ability to undertake analysis of large amounts of information
- Adaptability, resilience, and flexibility in the face of changing and competing priorities.
- Strong organisational skills to deliver high quality coordination, administration and support services to the Ministers office, Executives, and the Agency
- Ability to achieve results within agreed timeframes.
- PDMS skills and experience are desirable.
