Established in 1892, the School is one of eight original Grammar Schools in Queensland. A short 30-minute drive from Brisbane, the Schools, heritage-listed campus is conveniently located in the middle of Ipswich. We offer the opportunities of a large city, with the quiet feel of a smaller town.
We have an opportunity for a team orientated and experienced Media & Communications Coordinator (MCC) to join a small team of marketing and enrolment professionals. This is a full-time (37.5hrs per week), term-time role + five weeks. This is a rare opportunity for someone who is seeking greater work/life balance as you get additional time off (unpaid) over the school vacation periods.
In this role you will be responsible for the Schools community relations campaigns both internally and externally. The MCC has a key role in coordinating the communication of the Schools marketing message and publications.
Reporting to the Director of Enrolments and Community Relations, you will be accountable for media and communication of the Schools marketing messages to different target markets. The MCC advises on communication channels and uses written and verbal skills to help create a wide range of publications and corporate communication material. By communication effectively with target markets, the MCC helps achieve enrolment and non-enrolment revenue targets and builds a positive reputation for the School.
In this role you will ensure brand messages are consistent, strategic, and fit with the Schools Vision, Mission and Values and value proposition. This will include, but will not be limited to, your ability to: Write articles for various publications and marketing materials and reviewing Executive staff and Board communications to ensure consistency in messaging and style.Provide up-to-date and refreshed content for the Schools websites, including regular news items.Develop and implement social media plans, ensuring timely, on brand and quality content is published frequently. Develop creative, innovative, modern concepts and artwork for campaigns, signage, communications, and collateral, aligned with the Schools brand and image, in collaboration with external graphic designers.Liaise with professional photographers and videographers as required, including the supervision, and planning of in-depth multiple day projects. Monitor the Schools social media accounts to ensure interactions are a positive and appropriate reflection of the School and its values. Manage and evaluate the Schools social media activities and look for areas of improvement, or new platforms to engage with current and prospective families.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
To be successful in this role, it is envisaged that you will be highly organised, with an ability to problem solve, as well as having:Bachelors degree qualifications in Business (Marketing) or equivalent professional qualification or experience equivalent to the role and qualifications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to write and edit journalistic, marketing and communications materials.Creative and innovative display initiative and good judgement.Effective team member - ability to work in a collaborative, consultative and independent manner according to policies and procedures. Excellent customer service and customer relationship management skills.Ability to compile and manage a budget.Ability to manage external suppliers and stakeholders.Good time management skills - must be able to meet deadlines and have flexibility to attend occasional events outside of regular work hours.Good ICT skills - competent with the Microsoft Office suite of applications, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign), Internet, email, and website content management systems.Be the holder of, or obtain, a Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card).
