Job summary
The Victoria Police Custodial Health Service provides health care to people in police custody across Victoria and health advice to police officers and custody officers who have a person in their care or custody.Senior Medical Advisors perform a critical role within the Custodial Service, providing a daily clinical service to detainees at the Melbourne Custody Centre and a visiting and remote clinical service to other Victoria Police facilities. Within a multidisciplinary team including Nurse Practitioners, nurses and pharmacists, Senior Medical Advisors provide leadership in patient management and policy development.

Your duties will include: Providing clinical care to persons in police custody Provide clinical leadership in a multidisciplinary team regarding patient management Contribute to quality improvement including regular review of policies and procedures and engagement within and external to Victoria Police

As the successful applicant, you will have: Excellent clinical skills and experience relevant to primary care Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Full AHPRA registration A valid driver's licence and reasons provided within the attached position description.
Requirements and relevant information: One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available. One (1) x part time (0.9FTE), fixed term position available. Full time and part time applications will be considered. Salary is negotiated. Salary is pro rata if part time. This position is located at the Melbourne Custody Centre, 520 Lonsdale St, Melbourne. This position requires shift work as indicated in the Position Description (as attached to the advertisement). Your salary is inclusive of these payments. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa. The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening. In accordance with the Acting Chief Health Officer's Direction - COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions, you are required to be fully vaccinated (this includes a booster vaccination) and your employment with Victoria Police is subject to proof of vaccination.
