About Our ClientThe leading agency and representation for the visitor economy within the NSW Government. Spearheading a whole-of-government approach to visitor economy growth, the company is responsible for leading the delivery of the NSW Visitor Economy Strategy 2030 in partnership with government and industry. The company influences and shapes the visitor economy through strategic research, policy and thought leadership, stakeholder engagement and consultation, commercial partnerships and investment in visitor experiences, business support, marketing, and events. They are also the major investor in Business Events Sydney (BE Sydney) for the purpose of securing more international and domestic conventions, incentive travel reward programs, corporate events and exhibitions for Sydney and regional NSW.
Job Description
The key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
- Manage the design and delivery of B2B events including event planning, logistics and event development to showcase NSW visitor experiences and opportunities to international and domestic buyers.
- Manage the delivery of NSW First program face-to-face and digital events including sourcing venues, managing digital event platform implementation and delivery and coordinating stakeholder event communications.
- Build strategic relationships with new and existing international and domestic distribution partners to build buyer awareness of NSW destinations and visitor experiences and actively identify visitor economy growth opportunities.
- Represent the business at B2B and stakeholder events to ensure that NSW visitor experiences in all priority categories are distributed effectively through third party channels and maximise opportunities for NSW product distribution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the Division including reviewing and maintaining work processes and procedures and recommending opportunities for efficiency.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will possess:
- Demonstrated stakeholder management experience including the ability to proactively build relationships and work effectively with key distribution platforms and stakeholders, industry associations, local government stakeholders and local tourism organisations.
- Demonstrated experience with stakeholder event design and delivery and education/training initiatives preferably through digital channels.
- Knowledge and experience working in visitor economy distribution channels.
- Strong knowledge and skills in Salesforce and SAP.
- Experience in working with Aboriginal groups; cultural sensitivity, cultural protocols, and cultural awareness is highly regarded.
