OverviewWere looking for a skilled Back End Engineer to join our team of creators who are consistently raising the bar for user experience. Working behind the scenes, the ideal candidate will have a unique blend of technical expertise, insatiable curiosity, and an analytical mindset. This person should be comfortable working independently as well as with a team in the design and development of mission-critical websites, applications, and layers of infrastructure. Experience with TypeScript, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Git, or MongoDB is helpful to succeed quickly in this role. The back-end developer will have an immediate effect on our business success as well as the success of our clients.

Roles & ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively with developers, designers, product managers and clients in an agile environment Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on AWS, assisting clients move to the cloud and/or optimise their existing cloud environmentsUnderstand the current infrastructure and be able to provide recommendationsDefine and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenanceSet up a monitoring stackDefine service capacity planning strategiesImplement the applications CI/CD pipeline using the AWS CI/CD stackWrite infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or similar
SkillsExperience with the core AWS servicesGood background in Linux/Unix administrationExperience with Docker and ECS. Understanding of Kubernetes is a bonusStrong experience with non relations and relational databasesProficient in Node.js, Typescript (Javascript), React, Angular, (Python is a bonus)Experience in developing scalable apis in public/private cloudStrong notions of compliance and security best practices using IAM Roles and PoliciesWell-versed with implementing and maintaining CI/CD methodology and related toolsExperience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stackPrevious exposure to large-scale systems designAbility to troubleshoot distributed systemsKnowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or TerraformExperience with building or maintaining cloud-native applicationsPast experience with the serverless approaches using AWS Lambda is a plus. For example, the Serverless Application Model (AWS SAM)Familiar working with Agile Framework principles (Relative Estimation, Task breakdown, Sprint cadences)AWS Certifications are a bonusAdditional Information
