About the Opportunity

As the Business Manager, you will report to the school Principle while supporting staff personnel. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Preparing the annual budget
- Financial forecasting and cashflow management, monthly budget analysis
- Prepare, review and sign-off on Annual Financial Statements (AFS), in accordance with approved Accounting Standards
- Undertake all tasks required for compliance with legal and regulatory requirements:
- Oversee the annual audit and all external audit requirements.
- Ensure relevant Federal, State and Local Government legal and funding requirements are adhered to.
- Manage property assets
- Proactively lead stakeholder engagement for the financial accounting and reporting function, seeking continuous improvements
- Develop and lead on building strong relationships and collaborations with key stakeholders internally and externally
- Develop strong working relationships, assisting external auditors, regulatory, statutory and third party reporting
- Provide sound financial advice to address and resolve financial accounting issues
- Adhoc duties as required.

Ideal Profile

- You will be CA/CPA qualified, hold a current membership, coupled with 5+ years experience in a Financial Manager/Business Partnering position or similar
- Demonstrated strong financial acumen, including budgetary knowledge, costing, risk management, forecasting and project related activities
- You will have high-level communication skills, both written and oral
- You will have dedication to creating strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to communicate complex issues to individuals without a technical accounting background
- Excellent time management skills including prioritising and planning workloads
- Ability to work well autonomously as well as within a team environment
- Advanced computer literacy skills across of a range of financial packages/ERP's, experience using TechnologyOne will be favourably considered
- Previous experience in Education, Shared Services or Construction sector will be favourably considered

- Willingness to undertake fit2work check
- Willingness to undertake Working with Children Check
- Current drivers license and willingness to travel across sites as required
