We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced sous chef to join our team on a full time, salaried role. Salary for this role ranging from $70,000 to $78,000 + super based on experience.
The role is to support the Head Chef and other kitchen team to deliver an unforgettable dining experience to our guests.
Key responsibilities:Work within a small team, and ability to work unsupervisedAbility to look after kitchen departments and sections, with an emphasis on quality and pride in your workAbility to work within all departments of the kitchen Deliver delicious, flavourful and quality menus for all our weddings and events with canapés, sit down alternate drop menus, shared style dining; as well as catering for dietary requirementsDeliver and plate food service within the event timings for weddings from 20 120 peopleLead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence Work in conjunction with the Head Chef, planning menu's and rosters. Communicate effectively with floor manager and administration team at all times Enjoy coming to work everyday with a positive, can do attitude
Skills & Experience:Relevant qualifications as a chef; however applicants without qualifications but with adequate relevant experience also consideredPrevious experience in an event / function / catering style environment is preferablePrevious Sous experience in similar environment is preferred Excellent communication and ability to work within a small team
Requirements:Driver's license and own reliable transport requiredWillingness to work across a 7 day work roster with range of day shifts (7am -3pm) and evening shift (12pm 9pm)
What we offer:38-42 hour work week with paid overtime for public holidays and extra hours worked2 weeks off over Christmas and New years every yearOrganisation and ability to plan your holidays and days off with calendar of events available to view up to 12 months in advance
