All our programs and services are free of charge for clients - we are passionate about helping refugees, asylums seekers and migrants to overcome the barriers they face to participating economically and socially in Australia.
About the role
MARSS is looking for an experienced bookkeeper. This role plays an important part in enabling MARSS to welcome and support Canberras culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Responsibilities include: Data entry (recording financial transactions and balancing the books)Reconcile bank accountsAccounts payable and accounts receivableMYOBRecord and Reporting ManagementBusiness strategy (creating budgets and forecasts)PayrollTax FilingEnd of year reportingUnderstanding and preparation for audit and complianceMonthly financial reporting and tracking spending against program and project budgets
PROFILEExceptional verbal and written communication skillsExceptional organisational & problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detailMust be proactive and be able to work independently or in a team environmentCurrent ACT Driver's licence and a Working with Vulnerable People card is preferred.Preferred worker rights - Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
RequirementsA diploma or higher qualification in bookkeeping, accounting or a related field.Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
