About the Role
As the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of our transportation operations, with a particular focus on ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing transportation logistics, a deep understanding of COR requirements, and the ability to lead a team to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest COR regulations and ensure the company's compliance with all relevant laws and standards.
- Implement and maintain COR policies and procedures across all levels of the organization.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff to enhance awareness and understanding of COR responsibilities.
- Oversee the planning and execution of transportation activities, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize routes, reduce fuel consumption, and minimize environmental impact.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet customer delivery requirements while maintaining compliance.
- Team Leadership
- Risk Management
- Identify and assess potential risks in transportation operations and develop mitigation strategies.
The Successful Applicant will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Thorough knowledge of Road Transport Industry related rules and regulations including Load Restraint, Axle Weights, Fatigue, Chain of Responsibility, NHVR, etc
- Proven experience in divisional profit and cost control management
- Front line supervisory / management experience.
