Job Description
As Group Accountant, this role is responsible for the financial & management reporting for the companies investment portfolio and will include the following duties:
- Treasury accounting for general finance facilities including treasury derivatives. This includes overseeing the payments processing by the Assistant Accountants' Accounts Payable
- All aspects of property and investment company accounting and reporting
- Review of reconciliations of bank, suspense accounts, petty cash, inventory on hand, accruals and prepayments
- Responsibility for the accounting for other allocated assets and entities within the group
- Preparation of operating company annual budgets and quarterly reforecasting, which will involve working closely with operational staff
- Quarterly consolidations and financial reporting for allocated companies, trusts and group (noting the team accounts for over 60 entities and multiple group structures), this will include preparation of operating company annual files and financial statements
- Maintain compliance with all applicable Accounting standards and the groups' accounting policies and procedures
- ABS surveys and other compliance reporting including payment times reporting
The Successful Applicant
This role is suitable for a qualified accountant with experience working in audit for a mid-tier or big four firm and will require the following skills:
- Excellent standard of technical proficiency in all aspects of management and financial accounting
- Experienced in practical workings of consolidations and statutory reporting
- Good working knowledge of accounting standards and other compliance reporting
- Strong analytical and research based skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both oral and written
- Proven report writing and presentation
- Consistent and reliable attention to detail
- Compliance with established policies and procedures
- Outstanding commitment to, and track record of achieving goals and deadlines
- Proven motivation and success in working in a team-based environment, whilst still demonstrating good ability to work autonomously without constant supervision
- Ability to multi-task and handle shifting priorities
- Sound delegation and supervisory review skills
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office suite and accounting software applications (specific experience in using Finance One preferred but not essential)
