Job Description
- Collaborate with internal customers to forecast, plan, develop for business area's pipeline and or specific project
- Leading supply market insights, trends from a procurement perspective and demonstrate category knowledge
- Develop and manage relationships with key senior stakeholders to support the Procurement Business Partner and market the reputation of the Procurement division.
- Lead procurement in major projects to ensure procurement met the requirements for the project and or category initiative.
- Develop applicable project pipeline highlighting category demand to identify long term initiatives to prioritize activities that provide long term added value i.e. improve speed to market and cost driver analysis on critical project spend categories
- Develop comprehensive project procurement and category strategies in consultation with the business including category profile, risk plans and opportunity assessment that align with the project and or internal customer requirements
- Manage all strategic sourcing initiatives for the relevant project and coordinate efforts with support functions and provide direction to Analysts and Sourcing Specialists
- Manage the evaluation and negotiation process, incorporating technical, commercial, and operating model outcomes
- Manage market intelligence on supply base in regard to allocated categories and or projects that require specialized category intelligence
- Define supplier KPIs, scorecard, data sources and collection methods on supplier performance related to the project and or category allocated
- Own key supplier relationships for allocated categories and or project related and monitor key strategies and suppliers
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree qualification (Electrical Engineering, Civil, Construction Major strongly preferred)
- Masters / MBA preferred
- Professional qualification / certification from related professional body (e.g. Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS)) is an advantage
- Minimum 10-15 years procurement experience, management experience in a project management environment Current experience with utilities industry, preferably in construction and engineering categories
- Current knowledge and experience with financial budgeting and planning is mandatory
- Current knowledge and experience with contractual law, engineering is preferred
- Tech proficiency:
- Advanced competency with productivity tools (Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is mandatory
- Competency with procurement enterprise systems (e.g. ERP systems, e-Procurement tools) is an advantage
