As an emerging leader in utility scale renewable generation, they are expanding locations in 2022 to Brisbane (Yuggera Nation), Melbourne (Woiworung Nation) and Central West NSW (Wiradjuri Nation).
The Role
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated candidate to develop strategies and maximise regional economic outcomes from a portfolio of project developments.
Key responsibilities:Build, maintain and grow stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally, to maximise project benefits, with a key focus on economic development within the communities.Identify and plan economic, community, employment, and innovation opportunities, including future trends to support in the Central West.Contribution to and creation of community, industry, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation plans.Develop, implement, coordinate, and maintain a strategy to deliver legacy economic development outcomes for the communities.Deliver presentations, participate on panels and at conferences, and be a media spokesperson in the region.Actively contribute to Government Policy to ensure involvement in future growth in Australia's renewable energy sector.Undertaking gap analyses to ensure all aspects of the projects economic development are met.Promoting environmentally sustainable procurement throughout the supply chain.Enabling Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander focused skills development opportunities and economic participation working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
About you
You will ideally have a demonstrated background in a similar role within local councils, or can tick off some of the following:Tertiary qualification in Economics, Management, Commerce or Business Development.Supporting local innovation, and commercialisation opportunities in NSW.Sound understanding of opportunities and challenges that surround regional economies in the Central West and Orana region.Extensive industry experience, preferably working with governments or utilities and overseeing specialist consultancies.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to consult and liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, both externally and internally.Proven experience participating in the preparation of bids, proposals, and government policy submissions.Valid Driver's licence.
