Job summary
This role is a people leader position and success is dependent on building, growing and developing the finance team. The role oversees the financial management, financial accounting, credit control, billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable. This role will be responsible for managing the financial transactions of the business and acting as an escalation point for any issues or enquiries. Acts as a business partner to all business units to ensure that our financial control is maintained and leveragedAreas of responsibility
Manage the numbers -
Oversee the integrity of all the company financial information Establish and maintain sound financial accounting policies and procedures in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards Ensure accurate and timely completion of all finance and accounting tasks, actions & processing including EOM processes and Balance Sheet reconciliations Processing of some EOM transactions Keep abreast of all major accounting, regulatory and reporting changes that affect the Group Support and guide BU Owners in managing their budgets, forecasts and results Assist in annual budgeting process Assist in modelling and recommending appropriate actions to achieve sustainable profits Assist in creating monthly management reports and other financial reports as needed Manage all statutory responsibilities across Australia and New Zealand

Identify and Drive improvements to processes, policies and systems across the team Maintain appropriate insurance coverage Report risk issues to the relevant stakeholders Ensure adherence to, and improvement of, relevant Company policies Liaising with external auditors and tax accountants to ensure compliance
Build a High Performing Team
Lead and manage the team so that its focused on efficiency and quality Proactively lead and mentor team members in meeting deadlines, setting expectations and jointly developing technical skills Be available as a team and business escalation point for high priority business issues Participate and contribute to the overall management of the business though individual contribution and interaction with other BUs across finance, legal and compliance Lead regular team meetings Champion Continual Service Improvement
The Person
8+ years experience in finance and accounting 3+ years managing a team Demonstrated experience managing and leading people, including selecting, developing and coaching employees, linking individual performance and development objectives to team and company objectives, addressing performance issues in a timely manner, providing timely guidance and support to staff, particularly through change Previous experience managing periodic statutory activities like ATO BAS, FBT, Banking covenant reporting, etc. Demonstrated experience in delivering service above and beyond expectation, continuous improvement and ethical business practices Previous experience as a team and business escalation point for high priority issues and incidents Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Creative, strategic and thoughtful hands-on leader with can-do leadership approach Thorough understanding of relevant corporate financial standards and legislation including GST, FBT, Superannuation etc Influences and communicates effectively, maintains privacy & confidentiality, develops constructive working relationships with everyone & has high EQ Thorough working knowledge of Finance systems & Microsoft Office suite of products Supports Business Unit owners in understanding their results and drivers for their results Qualifications and Certifications
