job detailsThere is an exciting opportunity for an experienced credit professional to join this Lenders Mortgage Insurance Claims team as a Senior Service Officer. You will manage a series of functions within the claims lifecycle and provide outstanding customer service while adhering to regulatory requirements. A strong background in finance, banking or mortgage lending space will help you succeed in this role.
The Role:

- Handling complaints and resolving disputes, ensuring a strong client/customer focus throughout
- Managing robust relationships with key B2B stakeholders including financial institutions, mercantile agents and borrowers
- Ensuring full compliance with all industry and regulatory requirements
- Negotiating prompt and commercially sound settlements with liable parties and their insurers/representatives to ensure efficient and effective settlement
- Overseeing administration of accounts payable and receivable and providing support to the Claims Team
- Overseeing Arrears processing, Recoveries functions and reporting to ensure completeness and integrity
- Coaching and developing junior members of the team
- Unpack a claim and put forward your strong recommendations
About You:
- To be successful in this role you will ideally come from a Banking/Broker or Financial Services background and will possess the following skills and attributes:
- 2+ years experience in a Mortgage Lending and Dispute Resolution function is essential
- Exposure to Retail Mortgage Lending through a Banking or Broker role is required, along with previous LMI and DLA experience
- Sound knowledge of the mortgage collections process including Arrears, Hardship and Recoveries
- Knowledge of the relevant industry regulations e.g. NCCP, Fair Trading, Privacy Act, Insurance Contracts Act
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Experience in a similar role within Insurance will be highly regarded
