The progressive Shire of East Pilbara, the largest local Government Authority in Western Australia, servicing the town sites of Newman, Marble Bar, Nullagine and local communities, is offering an exciting opportunity to work for a visionary Chief Executive Officer.
This is a key collaborative leadership position in the Executive Team headed by the Chief Executive Officer, providing operational leadership and good governance to the Shire of East Pilbara. This position is responsible for the effective and innovative management, planning and provision of programs, projects and teams within area of responsibility, ensuring consistent service delivery and achievement of the Shires strategic goals and objectives.
An inherent requirement of the role is to work collaboratively with other members of the Executive Team, in driving and engaging internal and external stakeholders through a range of activities to deliver key outcomes. Clear thinking, resilience, confidence, professionalism, sensible decision making, and relentless application of continuous improvement principles are required to make leaps in operational efficiency and service delivery. While primarily and residentially based in the Pilbara Town of Newman, the position is required to work from any location in accordance with the service needs of the Shire of East Pilbara and / or in accordance with operational requirements.
Key Service Areas of Responsibility include: Aviation facilities, Strategic & Statutory Town Planning, Environmental Health, Property Management, Building Services, Contracts & Leasing Administration, Tourism & Economic Development
You will have:Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent with strong academic results along with a minimum of 5 years experience at management level either in consulting or as a specialist in a regulatory, development or aviation environment.Proven and significant commercial/business acumen.Successful track record of delivering major projects within specification, on time and within budget.Extensive knowledge of market engagement practises and drivers across local government, the public sector, and private enterprise.Demonstrated and proven capacity to manage complex customer, commercial development, and regulatory services issues.Ability to formulate appropriate action strategies to provide high-level advice to the Chief Executive Officer and Council.Outstanding interpersonal communication, persuasion, problem-solving and emotional intelligence skills with the adept ability to direct and influence outcomes.Highly developed consultation, negotiation and advocacy skills.Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, develop and motivate multidisciplinary teams.Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, to prioritise work and to meet/oversee the meeting of strict deadlines ensuring work produced by self and others is of a high standard first time, every time.West Australian C Class Drivers Licence.
Remuneration and Benefits: Salary up to $210,000.00 per annum (this salary factors in addition hours calculated at time and a half along with 17.5% leave leading), plus15% Employer Superannuation Contribution (subject to employee matching contribution), plusSubsidised housing with subsidised water and electricity or Living Allowance of up to $20k per annum, plusRelocation expenses paid - up to $10,000 intrastate (or $15,000 interstate), plusUnrestricted private use of a Shire motor vehicle with fuel provided, plusParental Leave, eligibility for Long Service Leave and Professional Development, plus5 weeks Annual Leave 50% discount on gym, recreation and aquatic centre memberships
