Job summary

Place Settings is Melbournes solution to premium event hire, based in Port Melbourne servicing Melbourne and the wider Victorian region. To assist with our growing brand and workforce we are looking for a part time Accounts Receivable & Payable Officer to work alongside our sales and administration team.

We are a hardworking, process driven and dynamic company that aims to provide all staff with an enjoyable and supportive workplace. This role is part time with a simple and well defined flow of work, open to candidates who may be looking to re-enter the workforce after a break, wanting work between school hours or simply looking for work-life balance.

Day to day responsibilities of the role include collecting money from clients, entering payments and purchase orders into our customised hiring software, preparing invoices and information for payment and providing daily and weekly reporting. Working alongside our Finance Manager who uses MYOB, this role does not require MYOB knowledge, but any experience is a bonus. The role can be adapted to the successful candidates skills, we are always open to ideas and learning new things to take our business to the next level.

Core Responsibilities & Accountabilities; Accounts Receivable; collecting and administering payments from Account and Non-Account Clients into our hiring software. Accounts Payable; entering purchase orders, collecting, and preparing invoices for payment by Finance Manager. Credit Card reconciliations; assisting staff in collating expense reports.Ordering of office supplies and ad hoc items, Provide daily & weekly reporting back to sales and administrative team.

What you can bring to the role; Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar Administrative or Financial role, Proven experience with financial related tasks. Practice and knowledge of MYOB would be a bonus but not a necessity. Display ability to produce results in a timely and accurate manner, problem solve and communicate efficiently,A friendly and engaging personality with a positive attitude is a must to join our cheerful and sociable team.Hours of work negotiable indicatively could be Monday to Friday 10.00am-4.30pm. Some high season months may require additional hours a few days a week, to be discussed.
