About the Project
McConnell Dowell in partnership with John Holland (Joint Venture) have been selected to deliver the Kidston Hydro 2 Project (K2-Hydro), far-north of Queensland (270km NW of Townsville).
K2-Hydro Project is the flagship project of the Kidston Clean Energy Hub, an iconic renewable energy project located 270 km west of Townsville in North Queensland. It will utilise an abandoned gold mine that is integrated and co-located with the Kidston 50MW Solar Farm to generate, store and dispatch renewable energy on demand during peak periods the first pumped storage hydro-electric power station in Australia.
Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking applications for the position of Breakdown (Shift Underground and surface) Electrician, to support our K2-Hydro Project.
2:1 FIFO roster. Good , package significantly above standard industry rates Camp facilities include Pool, Gym, Basketball court and Tennis court. Flights provided from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, then Charter plane to Kidston. Immediate start or after a reasonable notice period.
Role Responsibilities
Working on Heavy Underground Plant such as; Epiroc development drill rigs, CAT underground loaders and trucks, Normet and Meyco shotcrete rigs etc. Fault finding, diagnostic repairs and maintenance on project Plant & Equipment in accordance with manufacturers requirements and applicable Australian standards Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults utilising schematics and technical publications Carrying out programmed maintenance, major inspections, and repairs in the onsite workshop Liaising with internal and external customers in a professional manner ensuring excellence in customer service is consistently delivered Key requirements of the role:
5+ years experience as a breakdown fitter on underground equipment; preferably Epiroc, Caterpillar and Normet Plant Previous onsite and underground experience with heavy mobile mining and/or construction equipment Valid C Class Drivers Licence HV Switching Ticket (Current ticket desirable) Experience with HV Switch Gear Understanding of AS3000 and AS3012 Strong understanding of Health and Safety rules and procedures. Able to communicate well with others and promote a strict safety culture. Strong problem-solving ability Good time management skills
Candidates will also:
