A well-established Tier 2 contractor currently working on some of the biggest infrastructure projects within the transport sector across New South Wales.
As a Project Engineer, youll be working closely with the Project Managers and will lead a team of engineers, coordinating and delivering scope, reporting, QA, safety, and all other responsibilities to the required project and clients standards. As part of a growing team with a commitment to excellence, you will be provided with challenging work on a wide range of structural and civil engineering projects.
About the role
- Monitor project progress in terms of quality, timeliness and budgets including regular program review and report to the Project Manager
- Oversee subcontractors & all supplier procurement activities, ensuring comprehensive scope of works are prepared and included in the tender documentation
- Coordinate rail possessions and implement maintenance activities
- Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions
- Plan work schedules and deliver to project timelines
- Identify and manage project risks and issues by completing complex risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies
- Implement project-specific safety plans including site-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITP)
- Provide active professional direction to supervise management of works contracts, monitor contractor progress and effectively negotiate variations, claims and other issues
- Manage and mentor a team of project, site and graduate engineers
- Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes
- Directly influence the safety culture through the promotion of safe work practices
To be successful in the role you will possess
- Demonstrated experience in civil engineering and a working knowledge of project management
- Previous experience working on major civil infrastructure projects in Roads, Buildings, Civil works
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills which enable you to assist in resolution of client and key stakeholders concerns
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering with relevant years of experience in the construction industry
