Expressions of interest are being sought from suitably qualified and experienced Environmental Health Officers, Environmental Health Scientists and Public Health Officers at various Health Practitioner levels with the following demonstrated abilities: Specialist level knowledge and skills in environmental and public health principles and practice, particularly in relation to incident, outbreak or disaster management and response and human health risk assessment Providing specialist, credible advice to senior management and a diverse range of stakeholders in matters relating to strategic, operational, legislative, policy and reform aspects of communicable disease prevention and control, environmental and public health incident response Functioning as a state-wide resource, offering advice and consultation on complex environmental and public health issues relevant to the COVID-19 pandemic response High-level analytical, problem solving and evaluation skills to examine complex problems and develop innovative strategies for their resolution Lead and promote stakeholder collaboration and networks and convey complex ideas relating to environmental and public health policy and reform Adaptability, resilience and ability to prioritise and manage work in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates will need to provide evidence of possession of at least one of the following: Environmental Health Officer - A tertiary (degree) qualification or equivalent that is accredited by the Environmental Health Australia or equivalent. Environmental Health Scientist - A tertiary (degree) qualification in science or applied science majoring in chemistry, physics or biological science, or a tertiary (degree) qualification in environmental science or equivalent. Public Health Officer - A tertiary (degree) qualification in Public Health from a recognised tertiary institution.
