Their boutique family office, based near the Melbourne CBD, is led by the Principal of the family office and has a highly collaborative and supportive team culture.
About the role
The company is seeking an Investment Analyst who is a self-starting team player with a strong desire to learn and a genuine enthusiasm for investing. The Investment Analyst will work closely with the Chief Investment Officer and Principal providing significant opportunities to learn from a highly experienced team and grow as a key member of the family office.
The Investment Analyst will:Be involved in all aspects of the investment process and management of the portfolio;Be required to screen opportunities; Develop comprehensive financial models;Perform finance statement analysis and share insights;Perform due diligence, assess deal terms and structures,;Make investment recommendations to the Chief Investment Officer and Principal and support on execution and:Be responsible for conducting Fund Manager research and financial analysis of potential and existing investments across all asset classes and preparing investment papers.
The role is highly varied and will cover a broad range of other responsibilities across the investment spectrum!
About you
You will be a talented individual with a desire to apply and build on your experience across a broad range of companies, industries, and asset classes in a boutique family office environment.
The key skills and experience for the Investment Analyst will include:Professional transferrable experience of 2+ years. The candidate will most likely come from an investing roles such as Private Equity or Funds Management; Investment Banking; big four accounting firms within deals or restructuring functions; or sellside equity research. Candidates with experience in management consulting or corporate Law with relevant PE or M&A experience will also be considered.Humility, enthusiasm and a hunger to learnHighly proficient numerical capabilities including valuation concepts, methodology and calculationsStrong analytical abilities that can be broadly applied Due diligence experience and an understanding of deals processesAdvanced interpersonal skills and relationship building capabilitiesEffective verbal and written communication skillsHigh degree of self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team and independentlyHold the relevant degree qualifications, which may include relevant post graduate finance qualifications
