We are looking for an experienced React Developer to join our growing Digital team!
About the role:
Bunnings is building an in-house software engineering team to build and operate its digital platforms. As a React Developer you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining our products and services across our retail website in a cross functional team environment.
You will be expected to implement solutions using contemporary web technologies as well as a variety of other programming languages and technologies. You will follow agile software development practices such as test driven development, continuous delivery and pair programming. You will form a part of a cross-functional team and expected to make a significant contribution to the success of the team's objectives and culture. You will use your skills and experience to mentor more junior team members and promote high standard technical and user experience outcomes.
As a React Developer, you can expect to:
Design, code, test and deploy the build and management of the backend servicesSupport the implementation of the platform's technology strategyContribute to a maintainable, high quality, and performant codebaseImplement new features in a highly collaborative environment with product managers and engineersWorking in an agile team, where iterative experimentation and data driven decisions with product and UX is valuedEffectively communicate your technical solutions and product ideas with the teamMentor other engineering team members
To be successful in this role, you will be a detail oriented, outcome driven problem solver who is well versed with working within agile environments. As a passionate technologist you are all about knowledge sharing and upskilling and possess excellent collaboration and communication skills. Further requirements include:
2+ years of software development experience including that include developing backend web servicesExperience consuming RESTful API and JSONStrong foundations in Web Standards.React + Redux (Next.JS) (styled components)Experience with Sitecore is a bonusExperience with JavaScript or TypeScriptExcellent knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g. agile software development, continuous deployment, behaviour driven development, code review, design documentation, infrastructure as code, etc.)Good knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g.: Docker, Vagrant, etc.)
