City of Stonningtons Major State Government Projects team seeks to positively influence the outcome of State Government Projects for Stonningtons community. The team collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop advocacy positions, assess and review proposals and provide expert guidance and feedback to a range of stakeholders on such projects. Working within the Major State Government Projects team, you will utilise your sound urban planning/infrastructure knowledge and experience, coupled with your strong project management skills to lead and coordinate inputs required from Council on a number of Major State Government projects within the Municipality. The role will involve developing advocacy positions, coordinating reviews and assessments of State government proposals, as well as liaison/collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including Councillors, Executive Team, local community and State government project teams.
You will also be required to: Utilise knowledge and experience of planning/master planning to identify key issues and opportunities with State Government proposals, collating and prioritising information gathered from internal and external stakeholders to respond to these. Monitor progress of projects against agreed program timeframes and deliverables, with regular reporting to team and direct manager, ensuring interdependent Council projects and authorities are engaged and informed. Manage project risks and emerging issues and proactively rectify or escalate. Represent Council at various related internal and external stakeholder meetings and forums.
This is a temporary full time position for 3 years with an annual salary range of $98,713 - $109,639 per annum + 10.5% superannuation and a monthly day off arrangement. Flexible work options are available such as a compressed 4 day work week and hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of 2 days within the office. To thrive within this role you will be enthusiastic, proactive, driven, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Within this position you will be involved in a variety of programs and projects, therefore you and must be able to adapt skills to address project specific needs and conflicting demands.
Background experience and knowledge of urban/infrastructure planning particularly in a local government context would be preferred. Using demonstrated abilities to develop collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, you will help derive the best possible community outcomes from State government projects within the Municipality.
You also have: Understanding of planning and design issues associated with major urban development/infrastructure proposals Highly developed conceptual skills with proven capability in writing and presenting reports and making recommendations to Council/stakeholders on a wide range of matters Proven capability in advocacy, facilitation and influencing project outcomes that align with Councils objectives Excellent project management, consultation and financial management skills with knowledge and/or experience of industry related project management tools A degree in Urban Planning, Transport Planning, Engineering, or equivalent with relevant experience in infrastructure projects and/or extensive and diverse specialist experience.
